The Tempest

A stormy tale of magic and treachery, The Tempest opens with a shipwreck off a remote island. Unbeknownst to the survivors who wash ashore, this disaster was an act of vengeance by Prospero, a powerful sorcerer – and the rightful Duke of Milan – who lies in wait.

Banished by his usurping brother, Prospero has spent twelve years plotting his revenge in the company of his daughter Miranda and the island’s mystical inhabitants. Amid supernatural spectacle and shifting loyalties, The Tempest, one of Shakespeare’s final plays, has been read by many as a great master’s farewell to his craft.
