As You Like It

The source of one of Shakespeare’s most iconic monologues, beginning ‘All the world’s a stage’, As You Like It represents the bard at his most playful. Duke Senior has recently been banished to the Forest of Arden by his younger brother, Duke Fredrick. Back at court, his daughter Rosalind falls in love with a dashing gentleman named Orlando, who flees to the same forest to escape his treacherous brother. Rosalind and her cousin Celia follow close behind, assuming the identities of the shepherd Ganymede and his sister. As Ganymede, Rosalind offers to help cure Orlando of his lovesickness by assuming the role of his beloved.
