Synopsis
A young Brahman embraces a life of asceticism in search of enlightenment, accompanied by his friend, Govinda. Along his path, he is tempted by material comforts of wealth and sensuality that he eventually overcomes. Upon a chance encounter with Gotama Buddha himself, he rejects the popular trajectory in favour of finding his own, insisting that enlightenment can only be experienced, not taught. This timeless work engages with the dominant Hindu philosophies of the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, and Buddhist scriptures like the Four Noble Truths, infused with psychoanalytic depth.
