The Communist Manifesto

Synopsis

The Communist Manifesto is one of the most influential political documents of all time. Marx and Engels make their first consolidated attempt to argue that all recorded history must be viewed as the history of class struggle. They describe labour relations between those who own the means of production and the exploited working class, who have been alienated from their own humanity. Revolution is inevitable, Marx and Engels predict, before outlining the pillars of the classless society that will follow in its wake. The manifesto has influenced anti-capitalist movements around the world, all rallied by the immortal call to action: ‘Workers of the world, unite!’
