The Prisoner of Zenda

Synopsis

Rudolf Rassendyll, a charming Englishman who bears an uncanny resemblance to the King of Ruritania, a fictitious kingdom in the Balkans region, as a consequence of an old scandalous liaison between an Elphberg king and a member of the Rassendyll family.

When the King is kidnapped by his scheming half-brother Black Michael, Rudolf is persuaded to impersonate his distant relative for the sake of political stability. While he holds the kingdom together, he falls for Princess Flavia, with whom he shares a love he can never fully embrace.
