Tao Te Ching

Tao Te Ching is a hallmark of ancient Chinese philosophy. As one of the most widely translated texts in the world, renderings across languages and cultures have reshaped the original as much as they have carried it forward.

The adaptability of its teachings shows up in unexpected places, notably in southern India, where the Tamil Siddhar tradition claims a kinship with this text, even identifying Lao Tzu as Bhogar, one ofthe eighteen revered forefathers ofthe community.
