Anne of Avonlea

In Anne of Green Gables, feisty orphan girl Anne Shirley discovered love and belonging in the home of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, her ‘kindred spirits’. The first in a series of sequels, Anne of Avonlea follows the next chapter of Anne’s journey. Now sixteen, she brings her characteristic curiosity and determination to a new adventure: becoming a teacher. Faced with a colourful cast of pupils and the challenges of adulthood, Anne must protect her spark – and share its warmth – in an ever-changing world.
