C. Chandramouli

DR C. CHANDRAMOULI is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. As Director of Census Operations in Tamil Nadu, he oversaw the 2001 census in the state and as India’s Registrar General and Census Commissioner, he led the 2011 census and helmed the National Population Register and the Socio Economic and Caste Census. After more than three and a half decades in public service, he continues to engage with social, economic and political issues at the Chennai International Centre and through his articles on public affairs.
