Meeran Borwankar
Meeran Borwankar received her doctorate in Organisational Management and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Pune. She is a post-graduate in English Literature from GND University, Punjab, and a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow of the University of Minnesota. A highly decorated police officer, she is the recipient of a President of India Police Medal for Distinguished Services, a Police Medal for Meritorious Services and a Distinguished Leadership Award from the University of Minnesota. She has specialized in institution building, criminal investigation – with particular focus on gender-based crimes – and law and governance. She writes extensively for national and international journals.
