Alec Ash
Alec Ash is a writer and journalist living in Beijing. Born in England, after graduating from Oxford he taught in a Tibetan village in western China before moving to Beijing in 2008. His articles have appeared in The Economist, Prospect, Dissent and Foreign Policy among others. He is a contributing author to the book of reportage Chinese Characters, and co-editor of While We're Here, an anthology of stories from China. Wish Lanterns is his first book.
